About
Dr. King Pascual, MD, MAT, MPH, MRO, NRCME
Dr. Pascual is an Occupational and Environmental Medicine physician with 10+ years of interdisciplinary healthcare experience in the public and private sectors.
He graduated from
Brown University where he double majored in Human Biology and Ethnic Studies. Prior to medical school, he taught high school biology through Teach for America in the South Bronx, where he also obtained a master’s degree in education. After TFA, he was selected to be a
2016-2017 MedStar Healthcare Innovation Fellow and co-founded Galva, a stroke education and wellness startup for stroke survivors and caregivers. Galva was acquired by MedStar Health in 2017.
Dr. Pascual received his medical degree from
The George Washington University School of Medicine, where he graduated with a scholarly concentration in integrative medicine. As a medical student, he founded and patented EarlyBirdy, a sleep hygiene tool that reduces excessive screen time at night and chronic snoozing in the morning. After completing his internal medicine year in the nation's capital, Dr. Pascual finished his residency at the
Johns Hopkins Occupational and Environmental Medicine (OEM) program, where he served as
Chief Resident
and received an MPH degree (on full-tuition scholarship).
Outside of OEM, his clinical interests also include AI/clinical informatics, wearable tech, lifestyle medicine, and clinical research. Dr. Pascual has authored multiple publications in peer-reviewed journals such as Annals of Emergency Medicine, Workplace Health & Safety, American Journal of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, and Journal of Patient Experience. He has also written for mainstream publications such as The Huffington Post, Business Insider, and KevinMD.
In February 2024, Dr. Pascual founded
Levant Health, LLC
where he is the
medical director and contract physician for corporate clients including Signify Health, Veterans Evaluation Services, Integrated Wound Care, OSH 360, Hippocratic AI, Pareto AI, NASA, and Mercor. At Mercor, he most recently served as the
AI
medicine team lead for a high-priority 6-month project, where he built, trained, and managed a team of 20+ licensed and board-certified U.S. physicians.
In addition to his medical degree and 2 master's degrees, Dr. Pascual holds the following certifications: Compensation & Pension (C&P) disability medical examiner for the Department of Veterans Affairs, Medical Review Officer (MRO) for the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, CAOH-certified Occupational Hearing Conservationist, and certified DOT medical examiner for the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration.
Dr. Pascual has unrestricted medical licenses to practice in Virginia, Maryland, and the District of Columbia and is dual-board eligible under the American College of Occupational & Environmental Medicine and American College of Preventive Medicine.
